“Kind Of Blue” – May 2 Workshop for Adult Musicians!
MILES DAVIS “KIND OF BLUE” WORKSHOP
“Kind Of Blue” is one of the central albums in jazz history, and was the “first shot” in the important style of modal jazz. We’ve all heard the music, but how about playing it all in a band setting, with professional leadership and input?
inDepth Jazz Clinics set high standards in adult jazz education and help amateur and semi-pro musicians take their playing to a higher level. Our world class faculty help students master new styles and material. Our next clinic and concert offer an exciting listening and learning experience. Join us!
OUR FACULTY includes some of the top musicians, educators and recording artists on the east coast, and they are eager to share their skill and knowledge with you. New inDepth Jazz faculty members include top DC players Thad Wilson (trumpet) and Lyle Link (alto sax). Returning faculty include jazz professors and recording artists Wade Beach (piano – George Mason University), Tom Baldwin (bass – University of Maryland) and Tony Martucci (drums – Virginia Commonwealth University). Artistic Director Jeff Antoniuk (tenor sax) rounds out the six person faculty.
They’ll guide you through five of the most important songs in jazz history, the entire Kind Of Blue album. And if you think you know these songs, come get a pro-level view of the next steps for you.
